150
and Out: The Final Episode of THE COFFEE HOUSE
We look back at our 15 seasons with
a scrapbook of surprising, funny, chilling, poignant, insightful
and powerful clips. Music, poetry, politics, the environment,
dance, work, sports, health, visual arts and more. You name
it, it's here. Please join us for this retrospective.
Having
grown from a blip on the cable screen in Takoma Park, Maryland,
in 1996 to a regular piece of the TV landscape on cable channels
in 35 states and on satellite, reaching some 50 million people,
and untold numbers on the Web, we get asked: "Why stop
now? You've built an institution." Well, we're proud
of having done so. The show's been a labor of love, but it's
a lot of labor. THE COFFEE HOUSE has always been an all-volunteer
program produced on a shoestring of mostly in-kind support,
such as gratis use of the studio facilities of Access Montgomer
and the goodwill and time of talented hosts, crew and guests.
Frankly, I'm ready for a hiatus.
Will we be back?
I don't expect so but I've learned never to say never.
In the
meantime, enjoy this walk
down Coffee House memory lane. Or watch
it full screen on TV.. And don't be a stranger. Let us
hear from you.
Thanks
so much for watching and for your support over the years.
Best,
Mark Cohen
Producer
